I most recently served as the Director of the Enterprise Architecture team where I led three architects (software, data and systems) through the design and oversight of software, hardware and network system implementations.  My responsibilities included design and documentation of all new software/hardware systems, due diligence on new technologies, products and vendors, feasibility and estimates of new projects, budgeting for IT department and mentoring and guidance to other IT teams.

Recently, my Architecture team completed design and implementation of a MPLS network (Cisco hardware, connecting three locations), fully redundant and high-availability data center, enterprise storage solution (Network Appliance), virtualization strategy (VMWare ESX and Lab Manager) and new enterprise-wide software systems incorporating Microsoft-based technologies:  Dynamics CRM 3.0, Dynamics GP 10.0, MOSS 2007, BizTalk Server 2006 R2, Scribe Insight, SQL Server 2005, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Integration Services, BusinessObjects XI, MSMQ, custom .NET Web Applications and Web Services.

I led a small IT team through a discrete and sensitive four-month outsourcing project that required substantial data transmissions and integrations with a new partner to replace 100-person call center.

Prior responsibilities include Interim CIO for nearly six months (responsible for leading the IT department through a transition to a new CIO) and Director of Applications Development (managed a team of six (6) programmers, a data architect and a report analyst).  Prior accomplishments include:

  • Designed, supervised the development and managed roll-out of a sales portal web application used by over 3,000 branch account executives for Wells Fargo US, Equity One and HSBC Canada.
  • Designed and developed an accounts receivable integration between in-house software and MS Dynamics GP accounting software using eConnect and Visual Studio 2003 (C#).
  • Designed and developed recurring credit card processing system and API using Delphi, web service written in .NET (C#) and integration with CyberSource credit card processor.
  • Designed and developed a member-facing web portal and shopping cart environment allowing members to update profile, view plan-specific details and order membership materials.
  • Designed and developed a full-cycle recruiting/management system used to build multiple networks of tow facilities across the US and Canada. The system features customizable recruiting process and tracking with automatic follow-up generation, simple one-click process completion, document merging and archiving, e-mail and fax integration.
  • Redesigned inventory system in MS Dynamics Great Plains accounting software based on membership plans, languages and states of availability allowing for easy integration into in-house ordering system and servicing application.
  • Integrated phone system with call center application for caller-id and automatic member identification.
  • Developed dispatch system with comprehensive tow facility searching by region, service needs and network rankings, sorting results by distance and ETA using internet-based mapping systems.

Freelance Developer

Designed and developed (using Borland Delphi 5 and ADS) a sales guide tool for use by corporate sales forces.

  • Designed and developed Internet Explorer-based sales guide that reads HTML and related images, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations from an encrypted database (using ADS local-mode) and displays them in a customized browser.
  • Developed a supporting application that creates the guide’s database by scanning a directory of HTML files, parsing the HTML, adding related links, encrypting the files and adding them to the database.
  • Lucent Technology and BellSouth used the tool.
