Waterskate Experiment

Earlier today I didn’t know waterskating existed. I went out and bought a board and took it out for the first time to see what it’s like. The first trick I attempt to master is a simple 180 turn. It’s not that simple. Shot with iPhone 3GS (portrait mode, cropped), edited with iMovie ’09.

Update: As my brother, Jeremy, has astutely noted in the comments, I am wearing Cole Haan shoes, most likely making me the first ever Waterskater to wear them. Cole Hann, listen up, I’m listening to all sponsorship offers.

Lisa, Alexandra and I were returning from a sunset boat ride and as we were docking the boat my neighbor called us over to the fishing dock for help. He had hooked this huge Longnose Gar and wanted some help to get a picture. So I helped maneuver the beast so he could grab him. I’ve never seen a gar this big!

TGIF Bass

I walked down to the dock to relax and fish a little to get ready for the weekend. It was slightly overcast and I was using a gold top water plug for the first time from the docks. This guy hit it pretty hard in about 2 feet of water. He was about 16″ and 2 lbs.

Biggest Bass Yet

I caught this fish today from my neighbor’s dock. It’s the biggest fish I’ve caught since moving to the lake. He was 18″ long and weighed 2 3 lbs. Shortly after, I caught a smaller bass that was 15″ and under 1 lb.

Update 3/26/09: I’ve determined that the scale I’ve been using to weigh was not calibrated and appears to be about a pound off. So I’m upgrading this fish’s weight to compensate for the scale fail.
